The Green Horizon Event held at Monmouthshire ShowGround will practice the following:
Onsite Recycling
Recycling points will be placed around the site to accept paper, cardboard, glass, plastic, metal – and sent for recycling after the event
Energy
All electrical energy will be provided by zero-carbon means (solar, wind) or carbon-neutral means (generators running on waste vegetable oil, biodiesel, woodgas or biogas).
Heating/Cooking
On-site fires will be discouraged. Participants and exhibitors may cook using wood or biomass. Some well known green events are known to encourage stewards to light small fires seemingly for fun and amusement. This will not be allowed at Green Horizon. Although burning wood is considered to be carbon-neutral, wood is a limited resource and should be treated with respect
